Dreamgirls: Round One

I heard some reports that Beyonce and her parents are not happy that Jennifer Hudson got more attention than her from the upcoming release "Dreamgirls". I don't know whether it's true or just the publicity stunt, can't believe in anything anymore. Anyway, here are 2 songs from the movie, "Listen" by Beyonce and "And I'm Telling You" by Jennifer. Looks like the first round Beyonce won by the video...

Quote of the Day

"I haven't got much time to waste
It's time to make my way
I'm not afraid I'll face
But I'm afraid to stay
I'm going down my own road
And I can make it alone
All work and no fighting
I'll find a place of my own"

Travel with McQueen

Look like my favorite designer of the moment, Alexander McQueen, doesn't sleep. He recently designed a set of exclusive luggage for Samsonite. Last week he unveiled the center piece of the 11 piece collection which was a rolling suitcase made from molded plastic in the shape of a human rib cage. The luggage zippers are embossed with a mould of McQueen's thumbprint. The luggage and travel accessories should be in stores by February 2007.

Vivienne Westwood coming to SF

Not herself, but her retrospective collections at De Young Museum in San Francisco between March 3 - June 10, 2007. This retrospective exhibition, organized by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and which makes the de Young its only U.S. stop on an international tour, celebrates Westwood’s extraordinary, nearly 40-year-long career. Vivienne Westwood is both iconoclast and global icon. She is one of the most inventive and influential designers of our time. Fashion to her became "a baby I picked up and never put down."

Design for All

Target announced that it will collaborate with fashion designers Proenza Schouler and Behnaz Sarafpour to produced limited designer collections. Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez expressed concern about the experiment believing that in the long run an association with the mass retailer can do irreversible harm to the brand, however, in the short term having one's name in places it normally would not appear is an amazing free ride.

Help Mike Jones

The blogger - Joe.My.God. - suggest the donation to help Mike Jones, male escort who exposed the Evangelical leader Ted Haggard for being hypocrite against Gay marriage but he actually having gay sex once a month with Mike Jones. Some doesn't agree with Mike said he broke the escort's ethic for exposed the clients (what eves), some said he's a hero. Whatever you think...this is a free country. This may be the reason Democrats took control over both House and Senate from this past election.

SeanCody's Model Goes Mainstream

What RUEHL and SeanCody has in common? A model named "Harry". Abercrombie & Fitch Co. has a new brand called "RUEHL", which supposed to be a little more grown-up line. As we all know, Abercrombie knows how to push the envelope as far as their campaign by using sexy models and this time one of the model used to be on SeanCody site. I'm wondering whether it's a coincidence or intention.

Closet Gay Catholics

Yesterday U.S. Catholic bishops announced that it's not sinful to be Gay as long as they remain celibate and they should not tell anybody other than close friends and family about them. WTF...It's like "Don't ask, don't tell" policy. I don't know whether I should be happy that this may be the first step to be accepted from the church or be upset that the church is manipulating some info to protect their priests.

Coincidence or Curse ??

Interesting fact...
In the last 10 years, total of 6 Academy Award Actresses left their husbands/boyfriends after they received the award. Reese Witherspoon(2005) is the most recent one who joined the list which included Helen Hunt(1997), Gwyneth Paltrow(1998), Hillary Swank(1999,2004), Julia Roberts(2000) and Halle Berry(2001). However, Frances McDormand(1996) Nicole Kidman(2002) were all single when they won. Susan Sarandon(1995) and Charlize Theron(2003) break the curse.

Right now, the Federal government buildings use 1.5% of the total energy in the United States.

This Used to be My Playground...

Happy Halloween, y'all !!!
Here are some of my costumes from the previous years. I decided not to dress up this year because I concerned about my safety. The situation is worsen every year. Again, last night there were reported 9 people injured from the shooting in the Castro. I missed the old Castro Halloween that the Gays dressed up and had fun. Hopefully, Gay community will do something about this to make our neighborhood safe again.
