Hello Summer !!!

Off to the beach for a weekend...

The Loyal Wedding

I don't wanna be bitter but...

Yesterday while I was watching the royal wedding between Prince William & Kate, another marriage I know is being on the rock. As I mentioned in earlier post about the infidelity in someone's marriage... and it seems like now she found out. I'm kinda glad that I could hold myself from telling her so, I don't have to feel responsible for any consequences that may happen. Many people still think that by 'getting married' you will be 'happily ever after,' I think that works only in Disney's movie. To me, getting married means you're entering another phase of life as a team of two people. I don't how the story will turn out but just hope for the best... for both the royal couple and for that person I know.

After all, what people need the most is 'the loyal wedding', not 'the royal wedding'...

Who's Next at Dior ??

A lot of names have been thrown into this race for Dior's new creative director after Mr. Galliano - Riccardo Tisci, Tom Ford, Hedi Slimane, Olivier Theyskens, Nicholas Ghesquiere, Alber Elbaz, Haider Ackermann, Prabal Gurung, and Sarah Burton. The front runner by many sites would be Riccardo, although he's not my favorite. Also, I prefer to leave Nicholas, Alber and Sarah where they are. So, it's narrow down to be either Olivier, or Haider. Tell me who would you like to see replacing Galliano at Dior ???

WTF

Here is the first commercial of Magnum Ice Cream starring Rachel Bilson and Baptiste Giabiconi; directed by Karl Lagerfeld. I think this concept is old... If without Rachael's or Karl's names attached to this, no one would pay any attention to it. Judge for yourself...

Ab-duction

If Taylor Lautner alone is not enough reason to go see this movie, they're giving you the amazing Sigourney Weaver...I'm wondering whether they got the name of the movie from this ??

Live Happily

I came across this article on O magazine with the interview of Marsha M. Linehan, PhD, a professor of psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle. She points out that there are five responses to any given problem...
1. To solve the problem - either change the situation or leave it.
2. The second is to change how you feel about the problem.
3. Radically accepting and living with the unhappiness. You don't deny the pain of what's missing, but you learn to live with it.
4. Stay miserable
5. You can make things worse.

I hightlight # 3 because that's what she wants us to focus on. "We're not trying to make it okay or not okay. We're trying to accept it as fact, because that's a way to get unstuck. If you wanted children and you don't have them and you radically accept that, you can go out and build nurturing relationships with young people. I was meant by God to have 12 children, but that isn't what I got. I don't have a biological child, but in my life there's a child who's like my own. The failure to accept is the failure to replace. Because you won't accept that there's a hole in your life, you do nothing to fill the hole. Maybe you can never fill it all the way, but believe me, a hole three-quarters filled beats an empty hole."

Happy Thai New Year

One of the pros about living in Thailand that we have 3 New Years - January 1st, Chinese New Year and Songkran which is Thai traditional New Year. It's perfect for anyone who procrastinates their New Year's Resolutions can have two more chances to start them again...

Listen Hear

I hate when I speak and people 'hear', not 'listen'.... So, I shut up and shut off.

Dilemma

Yesterday I heard a shocking news about someone I know who just married for a little bit over a year and her husband is cheating on her. She's not my close friend but I know her quite well. I'm not sure she's aware of the situation and accepts it or she has no clue. Deep down inside of me wanted to tell her but everyone around me seems to think I shouldn't. If I'm cheated on, I want my friends to tell me.

What would you do ? Or what should I do ?

Copy, right ??

Thailand is the country where people don't care much about copyright. I spot this Murakami-look-alike at a fundraising for flood victims in the southern part of Thailand and I doubt the organizer purchase the right from Mr. Murakami.

Time for a Change

Here comes again, my life is about to change again and it's a bit scary. Why? It's a human nature to be afraid of the 'change' but why are we ??? Here are 6 reasons according to Catherine Pratt.

1. Fear of the Unknown
2. Doubt Yourself
3. Isolate Yourself and Agonize Over Decisions
4. Forget That You Always Have Options
5. Focus on the External World
6. Handcuff Yourself to Stuff

"Having the confidence to take action in the face of fear not only provides you with a sense of control, ultimately it will also provide you with a life full of purpose and joy. And isn’t that really what we’re all trying to achieve?" Enough said...
