Wish It Was Nightmare

18 death and more than 600 injures from last night protesters crackdown in Bangkok. This all happened because of one evil person. Still not sure what's gonna happened today, just pray for peace now...

Bangkok Paralized

Yesterday around 60,000 members of the anti-government protesters (UDD) stormed out and block Ratchaprasong intersection (the intersection in front of Central World, Gaysorn Plaza, Erawan hotel). The UDD marched from their base at the Phan Fa Bridge to the intersection about 11.20 AM on Saturday and refused to mover until the government agreed to step down. All the malls around that area have been closed since noon yesterday. The deputy secretary-general of the Thai Chamber of Commerce said economic losses from the intersection takeover could reach 500 million baht a day. The government tried to negotiate with their leader but it's failed. The report said police would start making arrests under the act.

Heat in Bangkok

Not only the temperature that is rising in Bangkok, but also the stress level.The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD or Red shirt) is gathering at 10 locations all over Bangkok. Many offices are closed for today, including mine. We have no idea what's gonna happen and where they're heading to. They're planning the rally until Sunday, or may be more if their request is not met.

Dear Governor Paterson,

I write this letter to you, my friend, to publicly announce my gratitude for your courage and leadership on issues that will ultimately make this state, nation and the world a better place. I have known you for a very long time and have always admired your passion for doing what is right, which is often times not the most popular. This is what makes you a great leader, especially for our under-served communities that you have advocated on behalf of for decades. We were all inspired by your dedication to reforming the drug laws of our state and recognize the accomplishment your administration achieved by ending the Rockefeller Drug Laws after 36 years. So, we know when you believe in something, what you can do.
However, as your friend and supporter, we know you can do much more, if you forget about what the poll numbers say and let your heart lead. You have recently done this in showing support for the legalization of gay marriage. History will show you are right and will we support you on this issue. Mr. Governor, we want to go to work for you and we will, but we will not be easy on you, because we know your potential. When you were unexpectedly put into the role of Chief Executive of New York State, you were handed a plate full of problems. Although your first year was a bumpy ride, we are beginning to see your great leadership and vision shine through and take over. I encourage you to keep leading with your heart, and address issues like the promotion of good diet, well-being and education for youth, as well creating new jobs (hopefully green jobs) for our workers and making sure that every person in our state can afford health care. As the first African-American Governor of New York, you have already made history. We now want to help you create a legacy.

It's Official

Today same-sex couples can legally married in Iowa. After the ruling on April 3rd by Iowa Supreme Court, Iowa is the third state to allow same-sex marriage, joining Massachusetts and Connecticut. I couldn't believe that California is lacking behind Iowa, no offense to Iowans.

Day Without A Gay

Today is an International Human Rights Day and also a "Day without a Gay." The organizer encourages all gay to take a day off work and volunteer for your local LGBT and/or human rights organizations. I'm not sure this campaign is going to fly because I haven't heard much about this campaign. Also, for people who are still in the closet, I don't think they're going to take today off.

Remember MILK

Harvey Bernard Milk (May 22, 1930 – November 27, 1978) was an American politician and the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in California, as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Milk served almost eleven months as city supervisor and was responsible for passing a stringent gay rights ordinance in San Francisco. On November 27, 1978, Milk and Mayor George Moscone were assassinated by Dan White, another city supervisor who had recently resigned and wanted his job back.

"Today San Francisco has experienced a double tragedy of immense proportions ... It is my duty to inform you that both Mayor Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk have been shot and killed" said Dianne Feinstein.

30 years later, the bigots kill our right...

Although PROP 8 has passed, at least 'CHANGE' has come to America. It's been 8 miserable years that this country has been dragged down the drain. For some reason, I've thought about this song which the lyric is not quite related much to anything - just the theme "CHANGE" reminded me of this song.
