All Things "Limited"

If you're one of those who like "limited edition" items like myself, you'll like this website. A British luxury-shopping site 20ltd.com offers only 20 things at a time, all exclusives, all in limited editions of up to 40, and add something new when an item runs out. The website carries such as $80,000 motorcycle, $320 printed cashmere T-shirts by Hvana and $5,800 eyeglasses crafted from Asian water buffalo horn (above) by Germany's Onono.

Hot Legs

Spring is here and men also like to show off their gym-toned legs, but how short is too short for men ? I definitely go for the number 3 look. From left: Jean Paul Gaultier, Michael Bastian, Calvin Klein, Dsquared and Prada. SOURCE

Ouch !!

I just got a new "Dragon" tattoo on the left side of my back, covered up the old one which I think was too small and was not done nicely. At first I was hesitate a little bit ( Asian and Dragon, it's too literal), but I really like the tribal style. It took me two and a half hour to finish, I've never been in pain like this in my life. The result is so worth it...

Clothes Make The Man

Mark Twain once said "Clothes make the man, naked people have little or no influence on society"; that means he's never met Daniel Craig.

"Everybody" Turns 25

Today 25 years ago, Madonna released her first single "Everybody". and here is what her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, says on madonna.com;

"It may seem like only yesterday but 25 years ago on April 24, 1982, Sire Records honcho Seymour Stein released a single called "EVERYBODY" on Warner Bros. Records by an unknown singer from Rochester, Michigan by the name of Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone. To say the world would never be the same is an understatement. The song went on to become a huge dancefloor hit and was heard all over the radio in the Summer of 1982. That little girl from Michigan would go on to become one of the most famous entertainers and cultural icons in history - selling close to 200 million records and remaining a star of enormous magnitude and influence for the next 25 years. She's just getting started. Long Live the Queen and Happy Anniversary to Madonna."

Too Hot For Canada

A Canadian Broadcasting Regulatory body decided to ban a recent Chanel TV ads for "Rouge Allure", a lipstick featuring Swiss model Julie Ordon, in a takeoff of 1963 film Le Mépris (Contempt) starring Brigit Bardeau and directed by Jean-Luc Godard was too much for Canadian audiences. The TV Bureau suggested that certain body parts could be blurred or pixelated. Rather than modify the spot to appease the censors Chanel choose to cancel the campaign. SOURCE

Designers' Gap

Gap introduces the limited edition collections by hot young designers from CFDA awards - Doo.Ri, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, Thakoon. The collection is inspired by the classic white T-shirt. I love most of the designs but not fond of the material which makes everything looks boxy. What do you think ??

She Read My Mind

Magaret Cho shares her opinion on her blog about the shooting at Virginia Tech:

"Whenever anything really bad happens around Korean people, that is when I would like to hide, go to Hawaii and eat spam sushi until it blows over. I don’t want to comment on it because I don't want to escalate the situation and I don't want to implicate myself in it. I don't want to 'come out' as Asian because therein lies a tremendous responsibility that I never volunteered for, that I don't have any real control over, and that is as mysterious to me as it is to someone who isn't Asian.

So here is the whole terrible mess of the shootings at Virginia Tech. I look at the shooter's expressionless face on the news and he looks so familiar, like he could be in my family. Just another one of us. But how can he be us when what he has done is so terrible? Here is where I can really envy white people because when white people do something that is inexplicably awful, so brutally and horribly wrong, nobody says – “do you think it is because he is white?” There are no headlines calling him the “White shooter." There is no mention of race because there is no thought in anyone's mind that his race had anything to do with his crime. .

So much attention is focused on the Asian-ness of the shooter, how the Korean community is reacting to it, South Korea's careful condolences and cautiously expressed fear that it will somehow impact the South Korean population at large.

What is lost here is the grief. What is lost is the great, looming sadness that we should all feel over this. We lose our humanity to racism, time and time again.

I extend my deepest sympathies to all those who lost their loved ones, their children, their friends and family, in this unimaginable tragedy. I send them all the love I have in me, and I encourage everyone to do the same."

Say No to "Tighty-Whities"

Move over Tighty-Whities, printed underwear are taking over the market. Novelty underwear, for decades the butt of jokes and the joke of butts, but in the last two to three years turned into a serious business, capturing a significant share of the $1.1 billion men’s knit-underwear market. In all their goofy glory, briefs in bright colors, zany prints, new materials and daring cuts are undermining the classic white brief’s long-held status as king of the hill. In 2006, white’s share of the market dipped below 50 percent for the first time in decades, if not ever. SOURCE

Prada's T-Shirt

Miuccia Prada released new collection for T-shirt called "Obvious Classics #1", the line provides a wearable showcase for the eye-catching faux billboard advertisements created by Rem Koolhaas that were projected behind the models at Prada's Spring 2007 runway show. While Rem and Miuccia have been collaborating since 2000 - on Prada epicenters from New York to Tokyo and each of the brand's Waist Down exhibitions - Classics #1 takes things in a more political direction with what the label calls "a tongue-in-cheek view of where our lifestyle choices may lead us in a not too distant, fully-globalized, interconnected future." It's not You, It's the "Gene"

Researchers finally found a gene, called FTO, common in the population that dictates why some people gain weight while others do not. The presence of a version of FTO increased a person's risk for obesity, and it was very common in the people studie - 63 percent had one or two copies of it. People with two copies had about a 70 percent higher risk of being obese than people with none and were an average of nearly 7 pounds heavier than a similar person with no copies. Those with one copy had a lesser but still elevated risk. SOURCE

Depending on the individual, this could include any and all areas of the body, but the majority of men and women have common erogenous zones.
