Beckhamania

David and Victoria Beckham are taking over America one media at a time. First, David appears on Disney's ads. Now, NBC just signed a deal for 6 episodes of a reality show of Mr. and Mrs. Beckham moving to America. SOURCE

Stolen Picassos

Two Picasso paintings together valued at $66 million were stolen this week from the Paris home of the painter's granddaughter, Diana Widmaier Picasso, while she and a friend were sleeping. The pictures, identified as "Maya a la poupee" (Maya with doll), top, from 1938 and "Portrait de femme, Jacqueline", bottom, from 1961.

Fall On Colors & Patterns

After dressed Nicole Kidman at the Oscar (which is my favorite dress); Nicolas Ghesquière presents his Balenciaga's Fall collection with lots of colors and patterns. First glance, it looks a little bit like "Missoni Gone Wild". Then, I keep looking at the collection over and over (5 times to be exact); it starts to grow on me. The shoes....is fabulous !!!!

Colors are the New Black

Normally, grey and black are the colors for Fall/Winter collection, but not for Dior. Mr. Galliano presents his Fall collection in various colors; mustard yellow, apple green, plum, pink. Love, love, love the colors...but not impress on the design, some of them look like "Showgirl" costumes.

Love It or Hate It ?

Cameron Diaz in Valentino Couture - looks good on the runway, not the red carpet.
Jennifer Hudson in Oscar de la Renta - metallic jacket kills everything.
Anne Hathaway in Valentino - what's up with the GIANT BOW.

Quote of the Day

" Jennifer Hudson was on American Idol, America didn’t vote for her, and yet she’s here with an Oscar nomination. That’s amazing. That’s incredible. And then, Al Gore is here, America did vote for him, and then - [applause] Very complicated. "

The Art of Print

Missoni is always the master of print and ,this collection, they takes the design to the next level. Love the 40's + 70's inspiration and also the weaving corset (or belt, I'm not sure.)

Quote of the Day

" Don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk "

Walking on the Great Wall

Karl Lagerfeld revealed at Fendi show in Milan that he’s bringing the Fendi Fall/Winter 2007 show to China, where it will be restaged on The Great Wall. Fendi CEO Michael Burke added “We’re not talking backdrop. The entire wall will function as a runway for the show.” The international spectacle is scheduled to take place May 24, less than a week after Lagerfeld presents another collection - Chanel Cruise - in Los Angeles. Fembots rule Dolce&Gabbana Runway

Dolce & Gabbana goes Futuristic. I don't know whether the duo got the inspiration from Ms. Victoria Beckham (a.k.a FemBot) or vice versa.

It ain't Fall without Fur

I guess PeTA needs to hire more staffs to keep up with European designers. From Milan Fall 2007 collections, Fur is everywhere; from Fendi, Gucci, Pucci, you named it....

FENDI

GUCCI

EMILIO PUCCI (Love the colors)

World Premiere: Christina Aguilera's "Candyman"

Crème de la Crème

Versace and Lamborghini teamed up to create the ultimate fashion accessory. The result was the ultra fast "Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster", a one of a kind sleek black sports car with a retractable roof and winged doors. This Murcielago is limited to just 10 cars world wide and features a full Versace print interior along with metal Versace tag inside just to remind your fellow passengers that you’re not just in a Lamborghini, but one designed by Versace. The supercar was auctioned off for over half a million dollars with the proceeds going to the Elton John's AIDS Foundation. SOURCE

Do Gay Make Better Bosses?

According to Kirk Snydern the USC business-school professor and the author of "In The G Quotient: Why Gay Executives Are Excelling as Leaders . . . and What Every Manager Needs to Know": Gay male bosses produce 35 to 60 percent higher levels of employee engagement, satisfaction, and morale than straight bosses. "Gay people are constantly having to dodge and weave and assess how and where they're going as they grow up," says Snyder. "And that manifests itself as three huge skills: adaptability, intuitive communications, and creative problem-solving." Gay executives note that the reflection and candidness required for coming out mean that by the time they get to the workplace, gay men are often secure in their identity and don't feel the need to abuse people in order to boost their ego.SOURCE

Simple but Strange

That's what Miuccia Prada defines her latest collection. I don't know what was she thinking when she designed these clothes but they're definitely "Strange" - the leather coats don't look comfortable and the mohair coats look like the models are wearing bathroom rugs.
