GUCCI Loves Japan

Gucci is releasing a limited edition charity bracelet to support earthquake relief efforts in Japan. All proceeds from sales of the bracelet will benefit the Japanese Red Cross Society to support victims of Higashi Nihon Dai-Shinsai earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan in March. Retail for #100, not bad huh ?

Cannes or GUCCI Runway ???

Cannes film festival took off on May 12 and will be until May 23. To me, it's too much of a coincidence that many Hollywood actresses were wearing the very first collection of GUCCI couture called "Gucci Première." The stars included Aishwarya Rai, Camilla Belle, Kate Beckinsale, Naomi Watts and - of course - Salma Hayek. When these many stars wore gowns from the designer, it took the WOW out of it...

GUCCI for UNICEF

For the 5th anniversary of the GUCCI campaign to benefit UNICEF, GUCCI is releasing a children book by author and illustrator - Michael Roberts - and a brand new accessories collection. From Nov 16 to Dec 31, GUCCI will donate 100% of the retail price from the book and 25% of the retail price from the dedicated accessories collection to UNICEF.

More than a movie, HOME will be a major event all over the globe. For the first time ever, a film will be released on the same day, June 5th, in over 50 countries and on every format - movie theaters, TV, DVD and Internet.



In honor of the HOME film, Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini has designed a special limited edition T-shirt, which will be sold at select Gucci stores worldwide from May 25th. The design features the official HOME logo with the iconic Gucci "GG" symbol. The back includes the names of each country featured in the film. The T-shirt was designed using 100% organic cotton and natural dyes in recyclable packaging. Available in unisex sizes for $195. A white canvas bag with the HOME logo accompanies the T-shirt. All profits donated to Goodplant.org.

Event Etiquette

Is it just me ? Or it's kinda weird that Madonna wore (head-to-toe) Louis Vuitton Spring 09 collection to GUCCI dinner gala for UNICEF. I know that she's a new face of LV Spring 09 campaign, but talking about 'event etiquette.'

Winter is just around the corner, GUCCI just releases its CRUISE collection (a.k.a. pre-Spring.) I'm wondering when the economy is in the recession, would you buy pre-collection or wait until the Spring? Anyway, I have my eyes on these ($425) shoes and ($735) tote bag (the bag is available on pre-order at Neiman Marcus.) Also, GUCCI online starts having a sale early.
