LV Pétanque

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of pétanque, the celebratory sport played by 17 million people, usually during their summer vacations in France, Louis Vuitton is releasing a limited-edition, leather-encased set of nine monogrammed balls and a cochonnet, or jack. Invented in Marseilles in 1907 by Jules Hugues, the laidback activity is often known as bowls, bocce (in Italy), and is actually the national sport by order of the royal family of Thailand. And at 1,300 Euro, or approximately $1,813, a set, it's likely that those playing with the couture balls will be appropriately regal.
