Big Cleaning Day

It was another last minutes decision turned the memory of a lifetime. Yesterday was a "Big Cleaning Day" in Bangkok which the city officials and many volunteers are joining together to clean up Bangkok after the months long protest has ended. I was planning to stop by just a couple hours but I ended up stayed for 5 hours. The energy of people there wouldn't let me leave. It feels so good to see people are reunited after a big rift in Thai society.

Imagine All The People, Living Life in Peace

Today is the 4th day of military crackdown on the protesters. It seems like this will be dragging on for another 2-3 days, if we're lucky... I just hope and pray this will be over soon with less casualty. All I have to say is the government has no choice but using force. They already tried to negotiate, reconcile and all other humane ways to end this conflict but everything was turned down by the Red shirt protesters. Peace !!!

Cannes or GUCCI Runway ???

Cannes film festival took off on May 12 and will be until May 23. To me, it's too much of a coincidence that many Hollywood actresses were wearing the very first collection of GUCCI couture called "Gucci Première." The stars included Aishwarya Rai, Camilla Belle, Kate Beckinsale, Naomi Watts and - of course - Salma Hayek. When these many stars wore gowns from the designer, it took the WOW out of it...

First thing came to my mind when I saw this Winter collection from H&M was "I love them." Then, I realized now I live in Bangkok where just a long sleeve shirt is overdressed. I miss cold weather, miss layering my outfit... I need some changes in life, not just the same weather all year round. Bangkok's weather sucks !!!

While the fashion industry is buzzing about Lea T. - a Brazilian transsexual model - who recently appears in Givenchy F/W 2010 campaign (second from the right), Thailand has had one of our own a long long time ago. Her name is Ornapa Krisadee (Ma). As far as I remember, she started her modeling career 20 (or more) years ago. I still don't know why she's still the only trans model in Thailand when there are tons of beautiful transgenders in Thailand.

2010 Costume Institute Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday May 3rd. Oprah Winfrey and Anna Wintour co-chaired the event with Gap creative director Patrick Robinson. The event was, once again, full of beautiful people in beautiful dresses - but none of the dresses was interesting enough to fit the word "Costume Gala."
