80th Anniversary Ferragamo

In preparation for its 80th anniversary Salvatore Ferragamo launched a new museum and a concept store dedicated to numbered reproductions of archival shoes and handbags. They are intended as true collector items and are precise replicas made exactly as the originals. One reproduction is of silk platform sandals worn by Ava Gardiner and another is a 5 inches heel worn by Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot. They range in price from $1,500 – $5,000 dollars. All items are made entirely by hand, using original constructions, lasts and hides. In addition to the shoes, there are reproductions of four handbags, such as the top-handle crocodile bag with the iconic Gancino ornament and a small bag with a chain that can be used as a belt.
