Couture Round Up

Fall 2011 Couture shows have ended and I have to say I miss LaCroix and Galliano... Here is the summary from the shows in my own words.

The best: Givenchy

The worst: of course, Christian Dior

The most: JPG - with 61 looks (including men's)

I Want Galliano Back

Where should I begin with Dior Fall 2011 Couture ? This is the first show of Dior Couture without Mr. Galliano and it was a disaster. The clothes are strange - and not in a good way - and lack of cohesiveness. It started off with look-like left over design of Galliano, then turned Gucci-hippy chic and closed off with piƱata inspired gowns. I wanna cry...

The Last Galliano's

Who would have thought this would be the last collection of Dior by John Galliano? I'm not sure it's a coincidence or not that this collection seems dull to me. The whole situation that happened to Mr. Galliano brought up the discussion between people who support him and people who are against him. I, personally, don't like to judge anyone until I know the whole truth. But if he needs help, please do so...because we don't want to lose a 'genius' from the world of fashion. SOURCE

Restrained and Refined

Kick off Paris Couture week with the amazing Dior Couture by John Galliano. The combination of the indelible fifties inspiration of Lisa Fonssagrives, Dior mannequin and wife of Irving Penn, and that of the new model of French conservative chic, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. Those two streams of thought merged into a collection John Galliano called "fresh couture - restrained and refined."
