Savage Beauty

If you're lucky to be in New York right now, you've got to see Alexander McQueen's exhibition: SAVAGE BEAUTY at The Met museum. The exhibition will run from May 4 - July 31, 2011. I remembered one time I visited his boutique in NY and was thinking to myself "Wow, I feel like I walk in a museum." Now, I only wish I was in NY right now... SOURCE

Spirit of McQueen

Finally Visionaire # 58 - Spirit has arrived in my hands. The embroidered cover is gorgeous and Lady Gaga's Speechless is playing as I turned the cover. I asked myself as I was looking at the book - "is this worth the money?" Then I realized I can't put the price tag on Art. But if I want to make myself feel better, this book will be worth a lot more in the future since it's the limited edition of only 1,500. The only downside is I need to store this book in the dry, cool and dark place; otherwise the pages will grow...

Visionaire: Tribute to McQueen (Updated)

Visionaire # 58 issue called "SPIRIT" is a tribute to Lee Alexander McQueen. Not much of the detail has been revealed, only the contributors list (such as Nick Knight, Lady Gaga, Steven Klein, Mario Testino, and more.) They're now taking a pre-order and the issue will be available in June. The magazine will have a limited run of 1,500 copies with a retail price of $295. Each issue comes in a case designed by the McQueen studio and wrapped in a metallic brocade from the spring 2010 collection.

Updated: The issue was printed on paper embedded with wildflower seeds. When planted and watered, the pages would blossom (but who will be crazy enough to plant this collector item ??). The case is wrapped in a McQueen metalized brocade from his Spring/Summer 2010 show.

The MUST HAVE

The must have items of Alexander Mcqueen S/S 2010 collection is available to be purchased online. Personally, I think this collection is far more interesting than his F/W 2010 which is his last collection.

AlexUNDER McQueen

This is weird...
Alexander McQueen label is set to launch underwear lines in Fall 2010. The "basic" line will consist of simple colors boxers, briefs and vests. The "Fashion" series will draw the inspiration from iconic McQueen prints and details, such as the skull print, and will be updated every season to include the freshest designs. The price will start at $52 for a "basic" boxe to $550 for a silk pyjama set. The collection will be available from June this year alexandermcqueen.com and in stores worldwide.

Life After Death

Follow the death of Alexander McQueen, the sales of his label is soared. People have flocked to his stores to make some purchase as a memento. Liberty, a long-time stockist of the brand, reported a 1,400% uplift in sales after the designer's death was confirmed. His signature skull scarf sold out within hours. Apparently, there are some available on his US website but who knows for how long. If you haven't own one (which I think you should), hurry up !!!
