we should love thy neighbor
Madonna has defended herself against criticism by Christian groups over her decision to have herself mock-crucified on stage during her current world tour. The stunt involves Madonna being strapped to a 20-foot high crucifix while wearing her own crown of thorns. This has caused many Christian groups to speak out against the singer. Madonna has defended herself by saying that it was part of an appeal to get her fans to donate cash to help the fight against AIDS. Madonna said: "I don't think Jesus would be mad at me and the message I'm trying to send. Jesus taught that we should love thy neighbor." During the song 'Live to Tell', images of Third World poverty were projected behind the singer while numbers appeared representing the 12 million children orphaned by AIDS in Africa. SOURCE
