Report on NY Fashion Week

Thakoon is a new up and coming designer who I wrote about in May. His Spring 2007 collection is super feminine, which he got the inspiration from the bouquets of peonies and hydrangeas he received from well-wishers after he was nominated for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.

I hate when people say "What If ?" but after reading the article on New York Magazine, "What If 9/11 Never Happened ?", it makes me think.
Updated: A New York couple released a graphic footage they shot from their apartment, 500 yards from WTC. After watching this, it brings tear to my eyes.

Louis Vuitton Classic: Boheme Run

Louis Vuitton - in partnership with Moet & Chandon, Moser and Toyota - celebrates the new Europe with the Classic Boheme Run. From Budapest to Prague via Vienna, this rally will wend its way through the historic heart from September 5-10. The participants will embark on a 500-miles itinerary, pausing for a Viennese ball en route for a finish line in Prague. And of course, Louis Vuitton released a limited edition line of "Classic Boheme Run", which availble now from September 1.

Vivienne Westwood for Nine West

Something's not quite right about this collaborations. Don't get me wrong, I love Ms. Westwood; I think she is one of a few original and genious designers out there. But with "Nine West", com'on, the brand is killing me.

Olympus Fashion Week: NYC

Olympus Fashion week for Spring 2007 will be starting tomorrow. This one is not my favorite Fashion week of all but I'll keep you posted anyway. From the schedule, looks like I won't be posting until Monday which will be for Carolina Herrera.

Mariah and the Glitter...

The son of the Sultan of Brunei gave Mariah Carey a huge 8 carat diamond ring and matching necklace, worth $6 million. The 24 year-old Prince of Brunei had the gift flown in on a private jet and hand delivered by a trustworthy associate backstage before her recent New York concert. The 36 year-old Diva was said to be completely shocked. The Sultan of Brune is believed to be worth and estimated 25 billion dollars and counting.

Mariah Carey also reported get spray tan, which contained 24-karat gold dust, on every night on her current 'Emancipation of Mimi' tour.

Brett Henrichsen

I've been waiting for DJ. Brett Henrichsen since last time I went to Avalon for L.A. Pride. He just came to San Francisco to spin at Fresh for Labor Day Sunday and he didn't disappointed me, the music was awesome. He'll be back to SF for Adonis on Nov 18. At first I didn't really care much for this song but after saw her performance at VMA, I'm kinda like it. The show reminds me of Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" + Madonna's "Holiday" Girlie Show. Her coat is also very similar to (but it's not) this Jean-Paul Gaultier's trench.

Mr. Pitt goes to New Orleans

Brad Pitt unveiled a "green" housing design for New Orleans's Lower Ninth Ward and said he was appalled by the slow pace of rebuilding since Hurricane Katrina hit last year. Two New York City architects won a contest, underwritten by Pitt, for an affordable, environmentally sound housing design. Architects Andrew Kotchen and Matthew Berman of Workshop/APD dubbed their design Greenola, which plays on the nickname for New Orleans, Louisiana - NOLA. Their complex of single family homes and apartments would be built from modular pieces into long houses on a site that connects to the neighboring Mississippi River levee with a wide pedestrian ramp. Environmental group Global Green USA, which sponsored the effort with Pitt, is raising money to build the project for roughly $3.5 million to $5 million. SOURCE

- Madonna is planning to sing at a private party for the house of Louis Vuitton in Prague on September 8, which fuelling rumours that she is about to be the new face of the house.

- Stefano Gabbana comments on 71-years-old Sophia Loren's posing nude for Pirelli calendar, "I don't think much of Sophia Loren posing for the recent Pirelli calendar. What was that all about? I mean, she is a beautiful woman – but a beautiful elderly woman. You need to know when to say enough is enough and make room for the next generation." Ouch...

- Oprah wanted Angelina Jolie to participate in her charity work in Africa but the Ms. Jolie turned her down. “Oprah thought Angelina would jump at the chance because she knows how much Angelina loves Africa. Oprah says it’s the last time she’ll ask Angelina to help with any of her causes.” Another source revealed: “Angelina has never forgiven Oprah for siding with Jennifer Aniston after Brad Pitt split from Jen."

The Westfield San Francisco Centre, $440 million dollar project, is now under construction in the heart of San Francisco's retail district. This will be the third largest shopping area in the United States. The new Westfield San Francisco Centre will be a 1.5 million square foot mixed use venue attracting over 25 million visitors and generating in excess of $600 million annually. Westfield San Francisco Centre will be home to the nation's second largest Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom in the country. It will also feature 170 exclusive boutiques, collection of fine dining, the Food Emporium: housing a gourmet market and 16 casual gourmet restaurants and state-of-the-art Century Theatres and Cine Arts Complex. The Grand opening will be on September 28.

Beside many female supermodels who rule the runways from Paris to Milan, Bazilian boys are also cause the stir on the internet. These boys are not models, they just regular guys who like to show off their body on their fotolog.
