Superhero theme is splashing all over Paris and Milan Menswear shows; From Dick Tracy at Viktor & rolf to Wolverine at Jean Paul Gaultier and much more...
So far the show from Paris is pretty dull, not like from Milan. Here is another show from Yves Saint Laurent that I think it's quite interesting. One thing; I'm not sure about those cropped pants ?
Forget the actual shows, here are some photos of the attendees who are as interesting as the fashion shows. Damn, that boy with LV mirror bag stole my look.
Paris Menswear week started with my favorite brand Louis Vuitton by designer Paul Helbers who surfed this retro-futuristic wave with a collection that subtly combined black leather cape and fluoro orange trainers on the same catwalk. It reminds you of the scenes from Justice League. And the combination of colors in one outfit is also amazing.
David Beckham starts conquering America one corporate at a time. First, he landed a role of "Prince Philip" for new campaign of Disney Park's celebration. The Campaign was shot by a famous photographer - Annie Leibovitz, which also features Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, Beyoncé as Alice in the Wonderland. SOURCE
Looks like Jean Paul Gaultier toned down a lot since he started working with Hermes. His Couture collection has no surprise, not pushing the envelope like he did in the past; except the halo on models' head. He might have passed the torch to Mr. Galliano and Mr. McQeen. Here are some of his highlight.
By far Christian Lacroix Couture collection is my favorite. He knows how to make a woman looks like a lady with soft colorful fabric and floral prints.
Who said tight can't be classy ? Karl Lagerfeld presented Chanel Couture Spring 2007 collection with a lot of tight. Good silhouette and amazing fabrics are still the keys for Mr. Lagerfeld. The collection looks a bit like Ms. Coco Chanel is getting ready for Studio 54.
But wait a minutes, what are these ?? Black-tie dresses ??
John Galliano starts off Spring 2007 Couture week in Paris with his collection for House of Dior. As you see, his collection is very Japanese influenced: Geisha look, Sakura and Origami dresses.
