But over the time, the trench has outlasted every trend and won over ever new generation. With their high collars, snug belts and plentiful straps and buckles; Burberry's gabardine topcoats were standard issue for British officers in World War I. Since then Trench coat underwent a metamorphosis by many designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier and Karl Lagerfeld. Deconstruction never looked so good.
