HUNK-over

I'm hungover but not Hunk-over...

Quote of the Day

" I am not truly free
if I am taking away someone else's freedom,
just as surely as I am not free
when my freedom is taken from me.
The oppressed and the oppressor alike
are robbed of their humanity. "

Gaultier Leaving Hermès

Jean Paul Gaultier is said to be resigning from 6-year run creative director of Hermès, his last collection will be in Paris this October. With Gaultier's help, Hermès' profit has rose despite the recession. In July, the company announced a 12% increase in second-quarter sales ($607.4 million at current exchange) in the 3 months ending June 30. Leather goods were up 33.4%; ready-to-wear and fashion increased by 12.7%.
It's heartbreaking to hear the news because I love the creations of Gaultier for
Hermès. He made the collections look younger and more fun without losing the sophistication of the brand. Not to mention the countless reinterpretation of the iconic "Collier de Chien", "Kelly" and "Birkin."

UPDATED: Apparently this is just a rumor... Thank god.

Shut Up and Watch

Attitude magazine presents "Shut Up and Watch Me Walk" - a short fashion/moving image to accompany the Sex Issue 2009. I guess this is one of a few most anticipated September issue. The film was shot by art filmmaker Oliver Warren, featuring Edward Stevens from Premiere Models.

Separated at Birth

I think Cole Mohr could pass for Carlos Freire's little brother.

Fernando is a Fighter

The first TV interview of a Brazilian male model Fernando Fernades who got in the car accident last month which caused him to lose movement from the waist down. He is currently undergoing 3 physical therapy a week. I like this section when he told the reporter " If I tell you I'm happy, I will be lying. If I tell you that I'm sad, I will I be lying. I am looking to live the positive side, I think this is the only way, my only commitment that I go out of this. Because if we hold fast to be the bad things, and be blathering head 'why am I here? Why I was getting the car that day? Why I was leaving home?' So I try not to think. I try to see the good things within the bad things to try to grow with it. " I'm praying for him to have a speedy recovery and be able to walk again. Never give up, Fernando...
Thanks
MIB for the report and keeps us posted.

Remember the Time ???

Remember the time when shopping used to be cool ??? During the recession, carrying too many shopping bags is kind of taboo. So, a couple of fashion magazine, September issues, are paying the tribute to once we called "retail therapy."
First set is from Harper's Bazaar - Magdalena Frackowiak stormed NYC's shopping boutiques with the help of Terry Richardson.

Second, Sasha Pivovarova wrapped herself in shopping bags, creations of Alex White, photographed by Craig McDean.
